I Wasn’t Really Living

To put it simply I felt like I wasn’t really living life.  All the things I had been able to do previously were out of the window.  I was emotionally down, struggling to find a way to fix the back pain that become the main focus of my life. I couldn’t do the basics – simple housework was a problem.  Sitting at my desk for more than 20 minutes was a problem. So exercise was impossible.  I was paying for an osteopath, waiting for the NHS.  But it felt like there was no end in sight.

Working with Julie on the corrective exercise has been very successful.  I feel I am getting stronger each week and I am so much more aware of my body and what it can do.  I have felt really supported throughout.  As I live a little way away, I attended monthly sessions but Julie is always available in between to answer questions or help out, providing emotional support as well.  It’s been excellent value for money for the kind of attention and treatment you get. My son has even had some sessions to help with his back ache!

It’s given me the confidence to get back to running which I didn’t think I would do again.  It’s been liberating!  Through this process I will end up better than before the pain started.  So in a way it was a bit of a wake up call and will set me up for the future.
